One of my favorite things to do on WKAR is talk about new books that really impress me. Some like to believe book reviewers get more pleasure out of negative reviews, but that has never been the case for me. So today was a highpoint for me as I take on My Name is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout.

I was back on the radio today, this time taking on the latest literary fiction by noted author Sebastian Faulks, Where My Heart Used to Beat.
Today on WKAR I took on the new literary fiction and ghost story by Samantha Hunt. Check out my take on Mr. Splitfoot.
I have always been obsessed with Shakespeare and his work. In many ways, I was exactly the target audience for Shylock Is My Name by Howard Jacobson. Today, I reviewed this Shakespeare-inspired novel on WKAR’s Current State.
Today on WKAR’s Current State, I reviewed the new novel by Steve Toltz, Quicksand. I hope you like it!
I loved the original run of The Sandman by Neil Gaiman and I couldn’t wait to talk about it and Overture (the new chapter in the adventure) on Current State.
Today on WKAR’s Current State, I was really excited to share a great new novel with the listeners (and you!). It is The Marriage of Opposites by Alice Hoffman.
It’s almost 2016 and I am feeling a little guilty. See, I got a copy of Salman Rushdie’s latest offering (Two Years Eight Months and Twenty-Eight Nights) back in the late summer. I read it over a week, wrote my review and… sat on it.
Today on WKAR’s Current State, I bravely took on reviewing the new novel by Jonathan Franzen, Purity. I hope you will check it out.
There is this misconception out there that reviewers like to write bad reviews. Like they get some weird pleasure out of it. Well, maybe that was true for Dorothy Parker, but it definitely is not for me. I hate writing bad reviews. So today’s review of Margaret Atwood’s new novel, The Heart Goes Last, is not fun for me…. Still I hope the review is fun to listen to.
