The Stories of Scott D. Southard

Can a book about a fictional Jane Austen be enjoyed by people outside the regency/Austenite world? Let me give you Exhibit A- Christopher Lee Deards, a book reviewer who enjoys mostly horror, science fiction, and fantasy. Well, he just read the book and said:
